Lithographic Masking  

The ruby red transparent UPVC backing is visually translucent, yet photographically opaque. These backing features, combined with a long aging, transfer-resistant adhesive, allow 3 M Lithographic Tape 616 to work well for may lithographic stripping applications in the graphic arts industry.

Very High Temperature Masking 

The extreme temperature resistance of polyimide film combined with temperature resistant adhesive formulations make 3 M Polyimide Film Tapes ideal for solder masking  operations during printed circuit board manufacturing processes.

Rivet Holding

Low stretch polyester backing with adhesive zone coated edges and a tack free center window allows 3 M Riveting Tape 685 to hold rivets in place during the bucking process without trapping .

Venting

The air permeable non-woven backings of 3 M Venting Tapes keep foam-in-place insulation inside door and appliance cavities, at the same time helping eliminate voids. 

Cargo Panel Sealing

The high tensile strength of the backing, combined with the flame resistant features of the acrylic adhesive, allow 3 M Glass Cloth Tape 367 FR to work well for sealing insulation panels in the cargo hold of this aircraft. 

Water Contact Indicator Tape

3 M 5557 water indicator tape provides permanent evidence of water contact. Additional performance features include high humidity resistance, film liner for die-cuttability and a printable topcoat for dual function as a label.
