Splicing Low Energy Surfaces  

 The thin caliper and tensile strength of the transparent polyester backing, combined with extremely high immediate adhesion and holding power of the power of the rubber-resin adhesive system, allow 3M Polyester Tape 396 to work well for butt splicing many low energy surfaces such  as polyethylene.

Plating Gold Connectors 

The chemical resistance  of the polyester backing, combined with the chemical resistance and flow properties of a heavy coating weight of a specially formulated rubber-resin adhesive system, allow 3 M Polyester Tape 1285 to work well as a plating tape in many applications in  the printed circuit board fabrication industry.
